Paralelni Polis is Paradise for crypto enthusiasts and crypto-anarchists. If you’ve heard of this crypto and blockchain haven, or even been there, good for you. If not, our today’s blog post is for you.
Once you get to Paralelni Polis, there’s no way back. Not really, but you’ll definitely want to visit it again and again.
Paralelni Polis was founded by the members of the Ztohoven group, which takes us all the way to Prague, Czech Republic.
Originally, Ztohoven is a Czech guerrilla artist collective known for its artistically motivated pranks.
The members of the Ztohoven group who established Paralelni Polis are often associated with hackers. No wonder. Hackers are #1 activists when it comes to freedom and security issues on the Web. Their ways are not always legal, but their beliefs and principals are very clear.
The members of the Ztohoven group have taken responsibility for some illegal actions in relation to hacker activity, but that’s not what they’re aiming at.
The primary aim of Paralelni Polis is to make available tools for unlimited dissemination of information on the Internet and encouraging a parallel decentralized economy, cryptocurrencies and other conditions for the development of a free society in the 21st century.
New technology inevitable brings new choices, and in our context, blockchain and crypto is the new technology that has opened a lot of doors.
The headquarters of Paralelni Polis are located in Prague, and this black building catches your eye straight away. What’s inside?
Feel free to enter if you’ve got some bitcoins on your hands as there are plenty of things you can buy or rent.
First, there’s a bitcoin-only espresso bar called Bitcoin Coffee. Go Bitcoin or go home and brew your own coffee!
Then, there’s Paper Hub that allows you to rent a spot in a shared working space. Tired of doing freelance in the confines of your home? Welcome to Paralelni Polis… but don’t forget to get some bitcoins first! Bitcoin is the main currency in the territory of Paralelni Polis.
